Yesterday was my show and I am still flabbergasted.
I was there on time with my friends, one got sick in the train somehow but felt better luckily. We had a quick dinner and then went to the venue. There were still people buying tickets outside, as it was not sold out after rescheduling. I think it sold out in the end. This really was a night going out for LGBTIQ Netherlands, amazing. So many guys there. And amazing costumes. Gaga her shows are best for that, always! Hands down.
Finally there, I tried some merch and got the shirt with Gaga on the piano. It looks so good in person. Then I also got the poster, the Joanne glasses and a wristband. That birthday money came early and I did put it to good use! Can’t be happier with my stuff. It great and always reminds me of the concert.
We came in and Gaga: Five Foot Two was already playing. Still, a great docu and it was so fascinating to see again. I’m going to watch it again sometime. We took some pics and then the countdown came. Those chills when it’s near 0 and some instruments are tested a bit. Amazing.
Can I just take some time to say how fucking snatched she looked? I mean the pics here and there are good but just do not cut it if you not see it in person. This is her best tour hair and mama was hot. Everything about her. Let me question my sexuality a bit queen.
The setlist was great. I was not bothered with shorter Perfect Illusion, it was great! Full Poker Face really did it’s thing. Did not expect that in full again. Then also the inclusion of Scheisse, WIG! That is such a banger. My only dud was Angel Down (shortened) and Joanne back to back. Full Just Dance was great too. I love how she said STA OP (which means get up) a few times. She’s getting her Dutch on. Also the times she said Kleine Monster, hehe. Then the special moments were a tiny bit So Happy I Could Die when she saw someone with lavender blonde hair, and Mary Jane Holland a capella, after Bad Romance. We always get something special, yay for Holland! I really can’t decide on what was my favourite. I was also floored by the reaction Applause got, that smashed.
Then these vocals. I am still not recovered. Not a single flaw during the show and she sounded her fucking best EVER. I mean the Cure studio version IS THERE but hearing this live. If there was another date here I would have gone again for sure.
I might say, the Joanne World Tour is up there with The Monster Ball (that I’ve attended twice luckily). I just remembered she was in her second album when she did that. Did anyone ever did that? Arenas and that many shows? Top of the world. So that might also help int he view of the Monster Ball and that it is a bit nostalgic now already. I prefer this show because it was in Ziggo Dome and not in an arena, so we had better sound and view and everything.
And now I’m off checking flights to Vegas (or perhaps looking for a ride to Antwerp)…
