I saw them in Amsterdam yesterday (25th September), it was fucking fantastic. Prepare for a ride!

So it was a bit of a rainy day and I was praying that Perrie would be better, because her singing is absolute gorgeous and I hope everyone feels their best when they are the biggest active girl group! I got to the train with my friends and we spoke a bit and then went for a quick fast food fix. One of my friends never went to concerts and was all what I gotta wear? I wanna fit in and everything, really cute and funny. She had a great time to. Also; luckily for me, football team Ajax (I stan! They got pretty far in the Champions League – ok. lets get into gay again) was playing that night so it was full with soccer hotties, yes, good views while I was chomping away a big fat burger and fries. What is a better preparation for a concert than that? Oh wait.. The dads at the venue!

We went inside, very happy that Ziggo Dome was serving alcohol as I did not expect that for Little Mix. This one time I was at Ariana’s tour(s?) they denied selling it, until the last and I oop. Glad we’re all grown up now, right my Little Ella’s? So Ziggo Dome. The best fucking venue in the Netherlands for concerts, great sound and views, and after all my praying right before announcements of previous tour dates, I did see the harvest this time. My dreams come true sometimes. It was packed, sold out I think and also great with all the different people and hot dads. I checked out merchandise and it was on point, even though I just got paid that day, I did not splurge and only got a cute lanyard with green puma stuff. Always get those easy things, cute but it was so busy there before the show, pfew. So we went to our seats while I was walking in my Spice Girls Live Tour 2019 t-shirt and only the adult people knew who they were.

We got a beer and sat somewhat before half past 8 to be on time and then it started! The opening was great, they came from above downwards. There was so much choreography and good vocals, great dancers too as I was pretty impressed. Perrie did not do all her notes I think, but what she gave good! You can’t be at your best every day, especially after being sick a few days before. I was pretty surprised at the power of all their vocals again, it has been a while since I watched a live performance and also longer than 2 years since the Glory Days tour, it was a blessing.

The setlist was good, could be a bit better here and there. My highlights were Wasabi, Reggaeton Lento and Touch. Wasabi just has the whole package, amazing choreo and outfits. So fantastic. ThIs ShOuLd HaVe BeEn A sInGlE but issues, we know. Stream here. The intro got me excited already, and then it blasted in the venue. So good. Here’s a fan video from the night;

Black Magic going into a remix was quite nice too. What is the name of that one or is it not out or so? Gotta find a fanmade studio one on YouTube. It brought in some new life and has also been a favourite of mine for a while. I basically liked all the songs and shout-out to my ‘old fave’ Wings, always great and makes me full with energy to dance. There were fanmade You Are Our Cure signs under each seat to hold up during The Cure, very sweet. Of course the &gay lightning during Secret Love Song, etc. LGBTQI+ queens! And then the confetti during a ballad? Shook!

The Shout Out To My Ex backdrops being that while any Ella in the audience does not recognize anything before Windows 7 was a kii thinking about it. The show was full of bops. No More Sad Songs could have used the original Jesy bridge to make it perfect. The backgrounds in general were gorgeous and it was definitely a step up from their last tour. Big stage: check. Even more choreo: check. Production: check.

Funnily, the show was quite… aggressive? It was already mentioned here before. The black with red military uniform screens, lots of baseball bats, even dancing with them? Little Ella is growing to be a Little Hell for her parents after watching this!

Here’s my objective music critique discussion points to talk to the usual PJ whines. Why not a live band? (I said that too previously). Why not a catwalk? Well, I’m gonna tell you: the biggest girl group of the world at the moment is already selling out everywhere and with a specific audience in mind. That is why it is seated, which also why there is no catwalk, that would take away a lot of the seats. Also, the stage was pretty high and was easily visible from any seat on the floor. However, the show I attended everyone stood up the full time. The audience is growing up with them too, so I think they could ditch the seats but a lot of their audience (in other countries) would not like it I think, so perhaps not.

A live band is something we music power users (aka non GP-people, us gays) would like to see as it improves the experience and give them some more real music credibility outside of their fans. But what would it bring Little Mix and their audience? Nothing. It would eat up the stage, give them costs and most importantly, I doubt their audience would care. It also takes space on the stage which would take away from choreography. So no.

I would love to see them added one or two more songs and have those 15 more minutes extra. One and a half hours for my faves always seems so short that’s why I’m often wishing for more if it was a very good concert, especially when there are songs like Forget You Not just being a dancer interlude. I had a fantastic time anyways, yes there are still improvements; be a bit longer and get rid of the seats for the Dutch dates, teehee! I could watch over anyone standing though, lucky me.

We left for the trains (sadly football was still busy, otherwise I woulda gotten myself nvm I’m not gonna go there) and thank god our connection waited on us otherwise we’d be darn waiting for a half an hour on a station. What an awesome night! I don’t think I typed so much for a concert review, but fucking worth it!
